Unconscious Bias

A Film for International Women's Day 2026, Uncovering Workplace Microaggressions

‘Bias isn’t always a shout. Sometimes, it’s a whisper.’

"Unconscious Bias" is a 4-minute cinematic mirror to the subtle moments that shape our professional lives. Conceived by Dr Samantha Pillay OAM, the film draws on her experience as a pioneering surgeon to uncover the "tax of disbelief"; the extra labor required for women to be recognized for their expertise. From the operating theatre to the boardroom and the mine site, this film explores 8 common microaggressions, offering a call for compassionate understanding, self-awareness and workplace allyship.

In an increasingly divisive world, we need to look out for each other more than ever. By uncovering the biases we carry, we can move toward an inclusive society where everyone feels valued and respected for exactly who they are.

This film is provided as a free resource for use in workplace training, community discussions, and personal reflection. We encourage you to share it widely to spark meaningful conversations about inclusion.

About the Production

This film marks a significant milestone for AIFilm4Good, pushing the boundaries of high-fidelity AI to capture the subtle nuances of professional life with a polished, world-class standard. By integrating advanced generative tools, we have ensured the visual storytelling carries the same weight and clarity as the real-world experiences that inspired it. Drawing on her unique perspective as a surgeon and a dedicated advocate for accelerating women and girls, Dr Samantha Pillay OAM uses digital storytelling to illuminate the workplace dynamics that often go unseen.

A primary goal of this production was to demonstrate a highly efficient and streamlined workflow, using the least number of AI tools possible to achieve a prestige cinematic result. By leveraging Kling 2.6 for all video generation and dialogue, we removed the need for fragmented multi-platform processing.
